Biography
American criminal and convicted murderer, Druce killed defrocked priest John Geoghan.in the prison they shared, Geoghan was in jail for the sexual abuse he perpetrated while he was a priest, and Druce, a self-proclaimed homophobic neo-Nazi, was imprisoned for killing a gay man. Druce killed Geoghan by strangulation and stomping on his chest, crushing the frail older man. Court records showed that Druce has exhibited signs of mental illness since he was five years old, and he dropped out of school after completing 10th grade, beginning a life of crime. In the intervening years, he has been charged with more than two dozen crimes, from forgery to larceny, and he committed murder in 1988 when a gay man approached him. He changed his name in 1999 to Joseph Lee Druce, citing as his reason, "Saftey [sic] and enemy issue's [sic], very important to change identity."
