Philippe Douste-Blazy

Biography

French centre-right politician. He served as Minister for Health (1993–1995 and 2004–2005), Minister of Culture (1995–1997) and Foreign Minister in the cabinet of Dominique de Villepin (2005–2007).

Douste-Blazy is also a cardiologist and Christian Democrat politician fromLourdes. Formerly from the UDF party, he joined the Union for a Popular Movement. His principal former elected positions were mayor of Lourdes and mayor of Toulouse.
