Biography
German philosopher and social scientist, probably the key figure in the "idealist" tradition of modern social thought. He made a radical separation between the natural and the cultural sciences. Originally a student of Leopold von Ranke, he later formed different conclusions. Several books outline his work and thought, "The Critique of Historical Reason," 1978 and "Pioneer of the Human Studies," 1979.
Dilthey died 10/01/1911.
