Biography
American noted family member, his parents are renowned baseball player Joe DiMaggio and his first wife, actress Dorothy Arnold. He was the couple's only child. His parents was troubled and they divorced in 1944. His mother would remarry twice.
As a youth, he preferred playing football. He lived mainly with is mother, seldom seeing his dad. He quit college after just a few months and joined the Marine Corps. After his father divorced Marilyn Monroe, young Joseph remained close to her and may have been the last to talk with her before her death. He married and divorced within a year. Through his life, he experienced periods of drug and alcohol abuse and bouts of homelessness.
He died on August 6, 1999 in Antioch, CA just a few months after his famous dad.
