Biography
French-Algerian philosopher and educator who taught at the Sorbonne 1960-1964 and at the ENS from 1965. His writing is a continuation of ideas developed by Nietzsche, Husserl, Heidegger and Saussure, a concern with the definition of how the human mind works, as well as the unconscious. His books include "Speech and Writing," and "Writing and Difference."
The philosopher died of pancreatic cancer on October 8, 2004 in Paris. He was 74.
