Biography
British writer, the author of more than 40 novels. He was a medical school graduate who practiced for a year before devoting himself to writing full time. His most famous book, "Sorrell and Son" was the result of his active service in WW I: his work also includes "Old Pybus." Though realistic, his novels usually had happy endings. Died 4/20/1950, Wybridge, Surray, England.
