Biography
Belgian athlete named Sportsman of the Year and given an Award of Merit, 1995. In 1996, he was the European swimming champion setting his first world record for the 100 m. breast stroke on 7/20/1996 in the Olympics preliminary round. He was the first Belgian to win an Olympics Gold Medal for the category.
At the Atlanta Olympics, 1996, he set a record in the 100 m. breasts stroke and the 200 m. breast stroke.
