Biography

American born Irish patriot; a leader in Ireland's struggle for independence. De Valera was elected leader of Sinn Fein (which means "ourselves, we, us") on 10/25/1917; President of the Irish Free State 1932-1937, always a leader. President of the Irish Republic 1963-1973. He was Catholic; always neat, always in dark colored clothes.

He died 8/29/1975.
