Biography
American radio personality, host of a talk show on Boston, MA radio channel WRKO. He was reprimanded and suspended for two days in July 2006 for calling a local politician a "fag." The politician is not homosexual and DePetro explained that he didn't mean the word in the usual way it is used but that the pol was "sissy" and that his wife "wears the pants in the family." Four months later, in early November 2006, he was fired when he called a Green Party candidate a "fat Lesbian." The candidate is overweight and openly Lesbian. He had been with the radio station since 2004 and his ratings were presumed to be part of the reason he was fired. The radio station came under criticism for its purported "zero tolerance" policy especially because it hosts other "shock jock" radio personalities like Rush Limbaugh and Howie Carr.
Prior to joining the Boston radio station, DePetro worked for many years at New York and Providence, RI stations. He is married with three children.
