Biography

American actor on stage, film and TV. He was a minor player until the TV series "I Spy" became a huge hit, followed by the TV series "The Great American Hero" in the '80s. A college athlete before he went into theater, he had years of small successes, including an award for his off-Broadway work. In films he fit the part well of a cool young executive, a secret agent or escape artist from a tight spot with a sense of dash and humor. Culp also directed several minor films.
