Biography

Belgian director of photography, one of Europe's finest cameramen during the '20s and '30s. He began his career during WW I in Italian and German films. Jewish, he fled Germany in 1933, working in Europe and the U.S.

Courant died on April 20, 1968 in Los Angeles, age 78.
