Biography

Scottish socialist revolutionary, a Catholic, author and industrial union organizer. Commandant-general of the Dublin division of the army of the Irish Republic during the Easter rebellion, 4/24/1916. He was among the seven who signed the proclamation of the Irish Republic, and Vice-President of the provisional government. Arrested, Connolly was found guilty by a British court 5/09/1916 and was executed by firing squad 5/12/1916, about 7:15 AM, Dublin.
