Biography
American astronaut, pilot of Gemini 10 mission on 7/18/1966. He was the pilot of command ship of Apollo 11 landing on the Moon from which Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin descended to the moon's surface 7/20/1969. When he resigned from NASA, Collins was appointed Assistant Secretary for Public Affairs by President Richard Nixon.
