Biography
Irish hero in the nation's struggle for independence, best remembered for his daring strategy during the campaign of guerilla warfare during the intensification of the Anglo-Irish conflict 1919-21. He was a British civil servant in London in 1916 when he returned home.
Michael Collins was killed on 8/22/1922 at around 20:45 at Beal Na Blath, near Macroom Co. Cork. He had signed the Treaty with the British Government (which he called his own death warrant) on 12/06/1921, 2:10 AM in Westminster, UK. (Chronology of Irish History, Doherty and Hickey,
