Biography
U.S. city. Virginia Beach was consolidated with Princess Anne County effective Jan. 1, 1963
Incorporation as an independent city was passed February 14, 1952 (1952 Virginia Acts, Chapter 33, pp. 42-48).
Virginia Beach became a city of the first class when it was consolidated with Princess Anne County in an act passed February 28, 1962 and in which previous incorporation acts were repealed as of January 1, 1963 (1962 Virginia Acts, Chapter 147, pp. 204-216).
