Earliest incorporation, as a city, was approved February 2, 1857, effective from and after passage, and the first election was held on March 2, 1857 (1857 Territory of Nebraska Laws at pp. 193-198).
Established as the county seat in an act that was approved March 2, 1855 (1855 Territory of Nebraska Laws at p. 340).
Omaha was surveyed and platted on September 1, 1854 (ibid).
