Biography

Italian politician, the grandson of Benito Mussolini and Minister of Foreign Affairs from June 1936 to February, 1943. Initially he approved of the Rome-Berlin axis, then changed his opinion and tried vainly to keep Italy out of war.

He joined the Grand Fascist Council in its motion against Mussolini. Delivered by the Germans to the Italian fascists at Verona on 7/24/1943, he was tried for treason and executed by firing squad 1/11/1944, Verona, Italy.
