French rock singer, songwriter, and guitarist, son of singer Louis Chedid, and grand-son of Egyptian poet Andrée Chedid (born Saab, of Lebanese descent) with whom he wrote his first hit "Je dis aime". Matthieu worked with other artists such as Vanessa Paradis, Sean Lennon, Sinclair, and Johnny Hallyday. He chose "M" as stage name, like Matthieu and "Aime!" (meaning "Love!"). Even his hair was done like a M.

Guitarist and multi-instrumentist, he was inspired by Jimi Hendrix.
