Biography

English leading jump-jockey. With cancer from 1979, he had one teste removed but when it spread to his lymph nodes and chest, had chemotherapy. Declared clear of cancer in February 1981, he won the grand national in April 1981.

Champion married 1981, had a son in 1983 and later divorced. He is known for his hot temper.
