Biography

French writer.

In 1972 he won Goncourt Prize for his novel L'Épervier de Maheux,

A few months later his father was killed and he plunged into a depression, after a divorce. He lived as a recluse in the Cevennes. In exile, Jean continued writing, altogether 21 titles.

He died 8 May 2005, near Nimes.
