Biography

Permanent secretary of the Académie Française and a historian specialized in Russian history, born to a Georgian father and a Russian mother.

In her book L'Empire éclaté published in 1978 she predicted the dissolution of the Soviet Union.

Married to French Louis Edouard Carrère. 3 children: Emmanuel, Marina, and Nathalie.
