Biography
Italian noted family, the eldest son of Jerome Cardan, named Giambattista. His younger brother, Aldo, was a wastrel, a ne'er-do-well and petty thief. John was a gifted doctor following his father's lead but was arrested, tried, convicted and executed for murdering his wife with a focaccia laced with arsenic when he found himself cuckolded. He was beheaded 04/14/1569 NS (04/09/1569 OS.)
