Biography
Scottish actor, he spent some of his early years in Canada. Although he trained as a lawyer, a pall of his invited him to join his band where Butler sang back-up. The law was abandoned. In the early 1990s, he found his career plans becoming more solid when he landed his first stage role and has since then performed in TV series, films, and on stage. In 2004, he starred as the phantom in the film adaptation of Andrew Lloyd Webber's musical, "Phantom of the Opera."
Butler is the youngest of three children who were raised by their mother after his parents divorced. Butler lost touch with this father but they reconnected when Butler was 16. When Butler was in his early 20s, his father died.
