Biography
American stock exchange first trade of Microsoft. On March 24, 2004, Microsoft was ordered to pay $613 million in the largest European antitrust settlement assessed to date. After its five-year investigation, the European Union Commission came to a unanimous decision that the software giant was guilty of abusing its "near-monopoly" of its Windows PC operating system. The commission ordered Microsoft to produce a European version of its software that would allow rivals to interface with its programs. Microsoft said it will appeal the ruling.
