British novelist noted for his comic imagination and skillful use of language. His "Clockwork Orange," published in 1962, was a thriller set in a classless and futurist society. The book was later made into a film. He also wrote "A Novel in Four Movements," 1974.

Bordoni quotes Amica magazine; in October 2007 Sy Scholfield finds similar information given in Andrew Biswell's book, "The
Real Life of Anthony Burgess" (Picador, 2005), p. 1. Biswell writes that
