Biography

American homicide who, as the owner of an auto upholstery shop and a prostitute ring in Glendale, became notorious as the Hillside Strangler. With his cousin Kenneth Bianchi, he strangled, raped and murdered ten young women between 10/17/1977 and 2/17/1978. Their trial, the longest in California history at that time, ended with his conviction on 11/19/1985. For his crimes, he was sentenced to life imprisonment. He died 9/21/2002 in his prison cell at Calipatria State Prison in Imperial County from an apparent heart attack.
