Biography
Danish nobleman, tall, handsome with exquisite manners and elegant dress, the prime suspect in the mystery of his wealthy wife's fall into a coma. He was acquitted on 7/08/1981 of attempting, on two consecutive Christmases, 1979 and 1980, to murder his wife, Martha (Sunny) von Bulow with lethal injections of insulin. The first sensational trial was overturned on appeal, and the second trial cleared him completely. His motive for the murder attempt was said to be greed for Sunny's money and a desire to marry his mistress.
Fleeing from Denmark as a boy, he was educated in Cambridge and lived in England for 23 years. A financier, he worked for Getty Oil Ltd in London from 1959 to 1966 as an executive then vice-president. On 6/06/1966, he married Sunny. From 12/20/1979, they were discussing a divorce. Sunny had two kids from a former marriage and they had one daughter together. In 1985, Sunny's kids, Alexander and Ala, sought $56 million in damages from von Bulow. He does not have that kind of money, but he is Sunny's heir. At any event, the children stand to inherit $90 million from their maternal grandmother.
When Xanadu Publications included his case in their publication "The Book of Murder," he sued them for libel. The case was settled out of court for an undisclosed amount on 10/29/1992.
Martha "Sunny" Von Bulow was born September 8, 1931, Manassas, VA, time unknown. She died on on December 6, 2008. She had never never come out of her coma of nearly 28 years.

Dana Holliday reports that he gave different dates to different people. "The Von Bulow Affair" by Wright gives 1926. An article by D.
