Biography
American ecclesiastic, ordained a Roman Catholic priest in Rome on 7/17/1960. Following ordination, he was assistant pastor at two Milwaukee parishes, and a professor at St. Francis Major Seminary for two years. He was named Chaplain to Pope Paul VI with the title of Monsignor in April 1976. From 1969-80, Bishop Bruskewitz was an official of the Vatican Congregation of Catholic Education. After returning from Rome, he was named pastor of St. Bernard Parish in a suburb of Milwaukee. On 3/24/1992, Pope John Paul II appointed him the 8th Bishop of Lincoln. He was consecrated and installed as Bishop of Lincoln on 5/13/1992.
