Biography
French ecclesiastic, a Trappist monk. On 3/17/1996, he and six other monks were kidnapped from their monastery in Tibéhirine, Algeria, and they were executed on 5/23/1996, . Their bodies were discovered on 5/30/1996 in Médéa, Algeria.
The seven monks were: Brothers Bruno, Celestin, Luc, Michel and Paul, Father Christophe and Dom Christian.In July 2009 a French general claimed that the monks had actually been killed by an Algerian Army helicopter and that the French government knew fhe facts and helped cover them up.
