Biography

German-American rocket expert and pioneer in space technology. By age 20, Braun was Germany's top civilian specialist in rocketry; he became the chief designer of the V-2 rocket. After the war, he worked on rockets, missiles and space satellites for NASA from 1958-1972. His job at NASA was followed by an executive post as Vice-President of Fairchild Industries.

Braun died on 6/16/1977, Alexandria, VA of cancer.
