Biography
German Nazi official, one of the most powerful but least known Nazis; he was called "Hitler's evil genius." Bormann joined the party in 1925, rose rapidly to become second only to Hitler and was last seen on 5/01/1945. He escaped and despite reports of his death, was rumored, even as late as 1974, to be alive in Argentina. Bormann was sentenced in absentia to hang as a war criminal. formally pronounced dead by a West German court in April 1973
