Frank Borman

Biography

American astronaut who was a USAF fighter pilot from 1951-1953, Assistant Professor of Thermodynamics and Fluid Mechanics at West Point from 1957-1960 and a Test pilot at the USAF Aerospace School from 1960-1962. He was Commander of the Gemini 7 spacecraft on 12/04/1965 and Commander of Apollo 8 on 12/21/1968. Borman retired from the USAF as a colonel in 7/1970 to become vice-president of Eastern Airlines.
