Biography

French amateur figure skater and winner of the Olympic Silver Medal in 1994.

Surya had been adopted by the Bonalys when she was eight months old. At age 12, following success as a world-class diver and gymnast, she made the French skating team. Known as a superb jumper, she was the only woman to incorporate gymnastic moves in her exhibition programs, including a back flip landed on one foot. Since 1993, she has been part of the tour Champions on Ice.

Surya took 1st place in the International Figure Skating Challenge team, 1st place in the Ice Wars For the World team, 1st place in the Goodwill Games and 3rd place in the Japan Open, all in 2000.
