Biography
American political aide, named Chief of Staff on March 28, 2006 by President George W. Bush to succeed Andrew Card. Bolten's first day on the job was April 14, 2006.
Bolton is no stranger to Washington politics. His father worked for the CIA and his mother taught world history at George Washington University. A privileged child, he graduated from St. Albans School (and later served on its board) and Princeton University as well as the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs and Stanford Law School.
Bolton has held several government positions, including Director of Office of Management and Budget (OMB), Deputy Chief of Staff for Policy at the White House from 2001 to 2003, and policy director for the 2000 George W. Bush Presidential campaign.
