Biography
American politician and Republican Party leader, Boehner entered political life in the early 1980s. In 1990 he was elected to the House of Representatives and was elected minority leader in November 2006.
One of 12 children whose parents owned and operated a café/restaurant, Boehner grew up in Ohio and as a young adult entered the world of private industry. He managed a successful plastics and packaging company before he entered politics by winning a local election in the 1980s.
Boehner has been married for over 33 years and has two children.
