British teacher who writes comprehensively on both aspects of Tao, the mystical aspiration and practical self cultivation. He is the author of "Taoism: The Road to Immortality," 1978, which has the charming dimension of adding descriptions of hermitages and recluses in 1930s China.
He died on June 7, 1987 at age 74.
