Biography

French actor, whose stage name was Pierre Blanchar, he began a brilliant career in 1920, playing in more than 120 French films and in many plays throughout his lifetime. He reached his peak of popularity in films of the '30s, which included "Crime and Punishment," 1935. Blanchard also directed two films and his daughter is an actress.

Blanchard died on November 21, 1963 in Suresnes, France, age 71.
