American homicide, he was fatally shot by his 20-year-old sister Amy Bishop on December 6, 1986; he was pronounced dead at 3:08 PM in a Quincy, MA hospital "approximately 46 minutes after the shooting" according to a news report in the Boston Globe newspaper. The death was ruled an accident based primarily upon the testimony of the children's mother.
Later, in February 2010, his sister, Amy Bishop was charged in a shooting spree on the campus of the University of Alabama where she was on the faculty. Six people were shot, three fatally. After that shooting incident, Seth's death came under investigation again. In mid-June 2010 his sister was charged with his murder but their parents are firm in their statement that it was an accident.
At the time of his death, Seth was considered a talented musician, a violinist who had played with the Greater Boston Youth Symphony Orchestra. An aspiring electrical engineer, he was a freshman at Northeastern University.
