Biography
French actor and comedian who played character parts in the '30s and '40s. A veteran of the Paris stage, he appeared in three silent films. The talkies made him a character star, performing in over 90 sound films; he did as many as 14 films a year. His imposing screen presence made him a favorite with some of France’s leading directors.
Died on 4/20/1951, Paris.
