Biography

American swimmer, an Olympic-level contender with many credits to her name. At the Atlanta Summer Olympic Games, she won the Gold Medal in the 100 meter Medley Relay on 24 July 1996, the Silver Medal in the 100 meter Women's Breast stroke on 21 July 1996, and another Silver Medal in the 200 meter Women's Breast stroke on 23 July 1996.

Beard is a vegetarian. She is married to photographer Sacha Brown. On 15 September 2009, she gave birth to their first child, a boy named Blaise Ray Brown. Their daughter, Doone Isla Brown, was born on 19 June 2013.
