Biography
Scottish founding member, songwriter and keyboard player of the musical group, "Madness," with first public performances from January 1979. The group made European tours, top-ten singles from 1980 and the award of Best Pop Song from the Ivor Novello Awards in London, 5/05/1983. Barson announced his retirement from the band 12/21/1983, as he wanted to settle in Holland with his wife, Sandra. The success of the group was limited after this, with only a few singles hitting the top 20 and they split in September 1986.
