Biography
Brazilian famed composer, known in the U.S. because of composing many of Carmen Miranda's hit songs. Among them, "Aquarela Do Brasil" is considered equivalent to a second national anthem and sung by Brazilians whenever their international flight is about to land at their home country.
He died 2/9/1964 in Rio de Janeiro at age 60. Differing sources give cause of death as heart attack or cirrhosis.
