Biography
American newscaster who joined NBC affiliate WBRE-TV as a reporter, and who became the morning co-anchor in 4/1989. He had been known as Jeff Barnes during his stormy 1985-88 tenure as Channel 6's Atlantic City correspondent, but resumed his real name, Barnd, with NBC.
He and thrice-married anchor woman Terri Merryman had a highly hyped union that blew up less than six months after their wedding on 1/1988.
