Biography
Peruvian musician. He was one of the most renowned composers and musicians of the city of Arequipa. Author of almost all subjects representative of the town and are now part of their musical heritage. He married three times, and the woman was to him a constant source of inspiration. Several of his musical compositions are dedicate to them. His first wife was Maria Josefa Vargas Espinoza, to whom he dedicated the waltz Silvia in 1955; to her death, he married again with Hortensia Medina Velasquez. His third wife was Matilda, to whom he dedicated the One Step: Matilde, Benigno, used to say that he had a third wife, Mrs. Valencia, who lived in the countryside. In total he had 16 children.
He died on 12 July 1957, at 3 in the morning, after having been three days in renal coma.
