Biography
Monaco-born film actress and fashion model, she was an internationally popular star of French films in the 1930s; she retired in the mid-1940s. During WWII she fell in love with a German officer and tried to escape with him but the couple was arrested in September 1944. She was released from prison in January 1945 and made another movie, her last in 1948. She died on November 9, 1968 in Hauts-de-Seine, France.
