Biography
Scottish acclaimed fiddler who featured Shetland fiddle tunes and tunes from other countries. Bain studied under Tom Anderson and made a debut performance in 1968. He joined with Mike Whellans, a singer-guitarist, for tours and recordings which culminated into a sold-out Carnegie Hall concert in 1989 as a member of the quartet, "Boys of the Lough." A solo album was released in 1984 and Bain merged classical and folk styles on his subsequent album, "Follow the Moonstone."
