Biography
Scottish dame hailed as one of the greatest oratorio singers of the century. Baillie made her debut in 1921 and achieved universal praise for her opening season in London two years later. She gave over a thousand performances of Handel's Messiah. She died September 24, 1983 in Manchester, England, age 88.
