French dancer and choreographer, he was the founder of the Montpellier International Dance Festival. Even though he had training in classical techniques, his work was influenced by modern American dancer/choreographers such as Merce Cunningham and Martha Graham. He founded his own dance company in the late 1970s and in 1981 he created an international dance festival in the town in which he now lived, Montpellier, France.

He died of AIDS on December 9, 1992 in Montpellier.
