Biography
French writer called the "Petrarch of France." He was the leader of a group of writers striving for the maintenance of Provencal as a literary language. As a playwright;, he successfully staged a drama in 1878. Died 10/31/1886. The website of the Aubanel museum in Provence, France gives a cause of death as "apoplexy."
