Biography

Barbados-born politician who was elected Prime Minister of Barbados September 1994 and January 1999. He served as Prime Minister until his party was defeated in January 2008. He held onto his seat in Parliament.

In 1983, Arthur was appointed to the Barbados Senate; in 1984 he was elected to the House of Assembly and became leader of the Opposition Party in 1993.

Arthur received his degree in Economics.
